Last week, our lab had the privilege of participating in this year’s International Symposium on Transportation & Data Modelling (ISTDM 2025), an event sponsored by the Centre Interuniversitaire de Recherche sur les Réseaux d'Entreprise, la Logistique et le Transport (CIRRELT) and organized by our close collaborators Carolina Osorio, Nicolas Saunier, Lijun Sun, Francesco Ciari, and our PI, Prof. Luis Miranda-Moreno.

The symposium brought together researchers pushing the boundaries of data-driven approaches to transportation, and we’re proud to have contributed with a wide range of presentations from our team:

  • Jônatas Augusto Manzolli – Spatio-Temporal Dynamics of Electric Vehicle Adoption in Quebec: A Bayesian Hierarchical Approach

  • Alessandro D’Apice – Enhancing Emission Estimation Through Machine Learning Emission Models: Bridging Meso- and Micro-Level Simulations

  • Chenglong You – The Future of Urban Cycling Under a Changing Climate: The Case Study of Montreal

  • Mingjian Wu – Evaluating Multimodal AI for Winter Road Surface Conditions Monitoring: Does Metadata Improve Classification Accuracy?

  • Prof. Jiangbo Yu – Modular AI Agents for Surveys and Interviews: Advancing Engagement, Transparency, and Cost Efficiency

  • Yubo Jiao – A Multi-Agent AI-Driven Framework for Driver State Estimation and Intervention: A Modular Approach to Enhance Takeover Performance

Each of these talks reflected the diversity of methods and applications our lab is exploring—from electric mobility and climate resilience to AI-driven monitoring and human–machine interaction.

Finally, a special shout-out to Narges Ahmadi and Ana María Ospina, whose dedication as volunteers helped the symposium run smoothly. Their efforts behind the scenes made a real difference.
